I have always enjoyed playing with words. When I was younger, while other kids played on their bikes, I could be found reading stories and asking questions about the meaning of words. At some point, I began to notice some words sounded alike, but had totally different meanings. I didn’t know it at the time, but I’d come across my first puns.As I grew older, I became more aware in spotting ambiguities in speech and writing. Gradually over time, I became more proficient in using wordsmithing to turn almost any conversation into an amusing anecdote. Thus began my lifelong pursuit to entertain family friends through the use of puns in everyday conversation. Knowing my love of punning, over the years friends have sent me some of their own puns, many of which are included. I have also included many cartoons in the book. When a pun is told, it often creates an image in the reader's mind. It can be helpful to see how someone else interprets the same pun. This is where a cartoon can help. When I began thinking about writing this book, I researched the subject and soon found that the majority of other books only contained lists of puns. Very few seemed to have helpful instructions on how to construct and deliver funny lines into everyday conversations. I hope that this book will correct this issue.
