Synopsis

When the father of the groom is murdered after his son’s wedding, followed by two more wedding party members, panic throttles the small trading town of Tønsberg. Fortunately, Ari Gustavson, the esteemed law speaker from Trondheim, is a guest at the wedding and is tasked with solving the crimes swiftly and discreetly, before the King becomes aware of the tragedy.

Ari struggles to find a motive or a connection between the murders, but his list of suspects grows daily. The more he digs for answers, the more questions arise. Ari’s quest for truth takes him down into depths he would rather not venture.

The Terror of Vestfold is the first in a series of mysteries chronicling the cases of Ari Gustavson, law speaker of Trondheim, set in the ninth century world of the Norsemen, during the chaotic reign of Harald Bluetooth. Ari is tasked to explain the unexplainable and to solve the unsolvable, often pitting his wits and strange abilities against foes of myth and legend.
