Synopsis

First, she loses her beloved husband and then her free-spirited daughter leaves their home in Calgary for Bangkok. Some months later, a stranger knocks on her door with ominous news that her only child is missing. Where is Carol? Jessica’s frantic search for her daughter in a beautiful, historic city begins. A local boy, who may have some information, puts himself in danger during the search. How can a first-time visitor find what she is looking for when she knows so little about the place, the people and their customs? This engaging tale exposes the beauty and the horror that visitors may sometimes encounter in a new and unfamiliar environment where most of the population is kind and hospitable but, like any other city, vermin hide in the cracks awaiting an opportunity to strike.
