Synopsis

This is an account of the working life of Trevor Graham Cobbett Armstrong. As the eldest of a large family, Trevor was brought up during the last few years of World War Two. The family lived firstly in Portsmouth and later in Kingston-upon-Thames on the outskirts of London. However, for the majority of his life Trevor has lived in Scotland, ending up in Ballater the home village of his wife Sheena. The book takes the reader through Trevor’s school days and 25 years as an Aircraft Artificer in the Royal Navy before embarking on many adventures in civilian life. Initially his role as a management consultant was with a major organisation. Later he formed his own independent company. Over the years Trevor has completed work for a range of firms and sectors, including Total, Rolls Royce, Shell, Standard Life, Giro Bank and the MoD. His work also involved travel to countries all over the world from Europe and the Middle East, to Africa and Borneo in South East Asia. Married at a very young age, Trevor’s story recounts the trials and tribulations of a family succeeding, despite many long separations and the pressures that got in their way. The tale includes the surprise discovery of a previously unknown link with the past through two half-sisters. The story spans a period of 70 years, touching briefly on the many aspects of life that have shaped Trevor and those close to him, providing a humorous, interesting and historic tale worth telling.
