Synopsis
Education-based athletics is a philosophical concept in which winning is not the most important or ultimate objective for high school programs. Instead, the growth and development of young people in which they gain life-long qualities and values is, and should be, the number one goal. To achieve these objectives, coaches play a critical part and need to serve as role models, instructors, mentors and effective communicators to create working-relationships to help student-athletes to enjoy their experience, develop and to grow.
