Synopsis

The town of Dead Rock, Colorado, is the latest boomtown to spring up, seemingly overnight. The news of a silver strike has men coming from near and far to stake their claims and hopefully strike it rich. The news, and possible expansion of rail service to the area, has caught the attention of some Denver & Rio Grande Railroad executives. They look forward to the additional business that any substantial silver strike might bring to the company. To make sure everything is on the up and up, they plan on sending in one of their chief investigators, a man by the name of Walt Gibson.

Gibson is tasked with finding out if the town has staying power. He will also need to see proof of the strike, not just rumors or limited evidence of silver ore. If the amount of silver bearing ore is for real then the amount of money the railroad is investing will be justified. The information could be as valuable as the ore itself. Information that will make some men rich, one way or the other.
