Synopsis

The Battle of Song Be was a battle of the Vietnam War which was fought from 10 to 15 May 1965. South Vietnamese and US special forces were successful in driving Viet Cong guerrillas, who were occupying the village of Song Be (the fortified capital of Phuoc Long Province), from the area. The victory helped to boost the flagging morale of the South Vietnamese troops, who had recently experienced many setbacks. However, the US and ARVN forces failed to chase down and destroy the Viet Cong forces, who successfully escaped.

This is the personal story of a Vietnamese language qualified interrogator with the First Air Cav in Vietnam from 1970-1971 in the wake of the Cambodian invasion.
