How do you raise a young man to be moral in the heart of debauchery (Beverly Hills, California *shiver*)? Ok ok, now, as a single father? Fine, fine, but how about if you aren't religious? This is a collection of stories and lessons from my life as the only son of the best dad in the world. This is the story of growing up in a very unique environment with my father, Roger Michael Reese, and I hope this book will share his legacy, not just to me, but to the world. Trials, travel, antics, tribulations, adventures, and the hunt for the best French Toast in LA. All this and more await you, dear reader. My dream is that this book can perhaps be of some assistance to those parents who decide to buck all convention (since children don't come with instruction manuals), and want raise their kids to be good in a world that seems to have forgotten morality. This book is geared for parents, both current and hopeful, who don't like being put in boxes and love their kids enough to raise them to be independent, free thinking, strong, and righteous. Parents who, like my father, always had trouble accepting organized religion and the social fabric and morays it provides, yet still strive to impart a value system, a code of ethics, and a desire to be good people above all to their children. This book is as unapologetic as my father was. We are no experts, if there can ever be such a thing. But my father was a fine man, and as the vessel into which he poured his life's work, I believe that this perspective on the world is as precious as it is rare. It is not the right way, it is simply the way that worked and made sense to us, as individuals and free thinkers, unfettered by the opinions of others. If this book can help one person out there in the world, then I consider it the penultimate success. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it in honor of his memory.
Sincerely,
Kevin Alton Reese
