Rattling Snakes is an autobiography based on real events, some fictionalized and/or embellished to add excitement and humor to a tedious tale. The story opens with the author’s trip down the birth canal into the atmosphere where he finds he is poverty stricken with a red neck and goofy relatives. His early years produce child abuse so he mounts a cannon on his crib after being framed for a crime he didn’t commit. While learning to tie shoelaces and tell time his dad provides complimentary whacks on the head to abet the learning process. His three-dollar bike is a new challenge, so is flying a coaster wagon airplane off the garage roof. Employing grandma’s match gun technology his sister burns down the goat farm. As part of the Horse Biscuits Race Team he drives a two-horse chariot over 220 mph at Bonneville. He assists in his dad’s tomcat neutering campaign until dad and uncle go a cat too far. Learning to repair and drive a Model A Ford attracts verbal/physical/psychological abuse. Double-dating with an ugly cousin and two ugly girls raises a big stink. At her insistence he elopes with a girl too young, and in handcuffs chooses the Navy over prison. During his enlistment that faithful girlfriend comes of age and the knot is tied.
