Synopsis
An adaptation in simple verse for children, with full colour illustrations, of 'The Conference of the Birds' by the 12th century Persian poet, Fariduddin Attar. It tells the story of how the kingdom of birds awakens to the fact that they are the only kingdom on earth to have no king, so they go on a quest to find one.
This story is an allegory for our times, for the journey is about a process of transformation in which the birds discover a new way of living in the world and their essential unity with each other.
