Synopsis

Cookie is the perfect pet-she's a beautiful, well-behaved dog who loves to help mom and hang out with the family. Her brother Bubba, on the other hand, has trouble listening. It's up to Bossy Britches Cookie to set him straight.

Meet Cookie and Bubba - two Frenchies with very different personalities. Cookie is older than Bubba and takes her job of looking after her brother very seriously. She knows her mom trusts her to alert the family when something unexpected happens or to leave the vacuum cleaner alone when she's trying to clean! Bubba doesn't understand all of these things yet, though... and Cookie does her best to teach him!

Throughout the day, Cookie makes it her duty to clean Bubba and to keep him focused on Mom's commands. She models how to be the perfect dog but has trouble getting Bubba to follow her lead.

To get her point across, Cookie scratches, pushes, bites, and barks at her brother to try and get him to comply. It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it!

However, even Bossy Britches Cookie likes to be taken care of sometimes. And when Bubba takes care of her, it makes her day wonderful.

This funny, sing-songy story written in rhyme will become a new favorite for toddlers and children under seven. The vibrant illustration pairs well with the easy-to-read story. Whether you're a teacher reading this out loud to your class, a parent or guardian choosing a bedtime story, or someone looking for an early reader that will engage and delight children, Bossy Britches is a great choice.

A propos du livre

À propos de l'auteur

Ashley Mangrum currently lives in NE Georgia. She taught Kindergarten for 7 years and wanted to write a book she would enjoy reading to her class. She has been obsessed with dogs since she was a little girl and left teaching to work at a vet's office, which continued her love and interest in man's best friend. She owns two spirited French Bulldogs, Freckles and Booger, which gave her the idea for this book and her books to follow.
