That Someone You Will Never Want To Meet: A Personal Story of Rape and Its Bizarre Aftermath - Couverture rigide
Synopsis
A harrowing and heartbreaking account of survival and legal system failure, this book recounts a personal story of sexual assault and the lifetime impact it made on the victim and her family.
On New Year's Eve in 1978, author Sandra Russell Wadsworth was attacked and sexually assaulted at gunpoint. Though she escaped the crime with her life, the horror and trauma were just beginning. The bizarre aftermath included unheard of treatment by law enforcement, an assailant that escaped justice despite repeatedly returning to the scene of the crime, and a lifetime's worth of struggling with obstacles for Sandra and her family.
That Someone You Will Never Want To Meet shares a personal story of injustice never prosecuted and the lifetime impact that made on the psyche of the victim. The book shows how even after decades of battling with the emotional fallout, obstacles can finally be overcome. The book will appeal to victims of sexual assault with similar stories as well as law enforcement and legal workers who aim to ensure these crimes are properly prevented and prosecuted. The book acts as a rallying cry for justice to secure a better future for victims and their families.
