He has worked as a teacher and coach in both elementary and middle schools, where he developed a strong connection to kids and learning.The character of Tamus the hippo was inspired by a cookie from a local bakery near where Joe grew up. With this book, Joe hopes to help kids and adults approach each day with a more positive outlook.
