Synopsis
In this novel, inventor-billionaire, Rory Flynn, alerts President Russell of the need to keep people employed in order to ward off a Socialist tidal wave. Mr. Flynn drafts a speech for him to unveil a two-element program of Infrastructure Maintenance and Federal Government down-sizing. America's crumbling infrastructure must be maintained, and new power plants built to meet the demands of hundreds of new data centers. It becomes an important moment in the nation's history where the military is downsized, bases closed in Germany and Federal departments padlocked to create the labor necessary for the projects. At the same time, Flynn modifi es his revolutionary Turbopod aircraft (T-Pod) with multiple riot-busting capabilities for use against urban riots. In the end, eighty-million Americans can't be wrong and sweep the Social Democrat into the White House. The give-away platform, including the replacement of the Bald Eagle with the Wild Turkey as the national bird, bodes poorly for America's next 250 years.
