In this novel a new company, American Leadership Society (ALS), has a mission to create a cadre of leaders for America. Motivated by a total lack of capable, national leaders in a nation of 380 million citizens, President Nelson develops a plan to focus on a future generation of leaders: middle schoolers who can rescue the nation from a failed Socialist State. His plan is to create a seaborne academy which focuses on requisite leadership skills needed in the new technological world. He converts a huge Aquaclipper trimaran ocean liner into a classroom for 200 qualified students during an 8-day voyage from Florida to Puerto Rico to the Bahamas and back. The curriculum includes cursive writing, knowledge of the Constitution and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). The goal is to create new captains of industry able to serve as successful American presidents. In the end, the intensive course meets its goals, and many youths discover their inherent skills much to the relief of the parents who see a great future for their son or daughter.
