Synopsis

We people of former Princely State of Jammu and Kashmir are more divided, and encountering more difficulties now than what we faced in August 1947.

Those who occupy us systematically divided us on religious, ethnic and regional lines. It is sad that some citizens of our forcibly divided homeland have happily become collaborators to defend and enhance the interests of those who occupy us.

We are involved in fake slogans, debating non issues, and chasing a mirage. We must learn to live in a real world, and not live in a fantasy world. People living in so called Azad Kashmir were brainwashed in believing that they are independent.

Even though situation of people of Gilgit Baltistan is worse than people of so called Azad Kashmir, still majority are brainwashed in believing that they ‘liberated’ themselves on 1 November 1947; and that they are also azad or part of Pakistan.

Reality is we are not independent. We have become mental slaves that we cannot even distinguish between occupation and independence. What we have is not independence (azadi), but a slavery (ghulami). We cannot even publish books and pamphlets about our history, and deliberate on problems we face.
