This is not a book.
It might look like a book and feel like a book. It might have thousands of words arranged into sentences, paragraphs, and chapters. But it’s not a book.
No. It’s an x-ray into a man’s soul. My soul. It tells of my descent from a house-owning, car-owning, career-focused family man to a patient in a psychiatric hospital. The fall is swift and told with brutal honesty and clarity. I have plunged my hand into the depths of my heart and splurged the contents across these pages in the form of words.
Although incredibly personal, my story could be anyone’s. Hopefully, readers will relate to it, understand it, take hope from it and benefit from it in understanding the complexity of the human mind. My wish is that this story will help to reduce the stigma of mental illness which prevents others from seeking the help they need.
And, of course, it is a book too. Please buy it, read it, and learn from it. Life is a team game.
