In the search for bringing locally grown, nutrient-dense food to their community in the City of Orange, California the 501(c)(3) non-profit Orange Home Grown Foundation, was born. Since inception in 2009, different branches of the Orange Home Grown organization have sprouted and come to life. These offshoots, such as the Certified Farmers and Artisans Market and Education Farm space have fed the local community with opportunities for education and learning, while supporting their greater physical and mental health, and facilitating their connection and reconnection with the earth.
An extension of Orange Home Grown projects, this collection of seasonal recipes and information for creating an abundant kitchen garden was compiled to promote even more appreciation for the food we eat. The 84 seasonal recipes and short stories have been lovingly gathered by Orange Home Grown members and the local community and will now hopefully be shared by you, your family, and friends.
When you savor these dishes, Orange Home Grown hopes you will also include in your enjoyment the contributions of all the people it takes to bring these items to your table. As stewards of the earth, we are grateful for those who plant the seeds, nurture our fields, and everyone who ultimately commits to making our tables bountiful.
