Synopsis

Mordechai Becker, an orphan of the Holocaust, grew up during the near destruction of the Jewish people and the rebirth of the State of Israel. In his memoir, he vividly recalls the near extinction of his own family and the eventual triumph of his human will to survive and thrive.


When he was only five years old, Mordechai's father was conscripted to the Red Army, never to be seen again. He and his mother fled the Nazi invasion, hiding sometimes in plain sight. When his mother died, he was left utterly alone. And yet, through the war years in both Europe and British Mandate Palestine, Mordechai endured.

And eventually, he triumphed.


This book has been published posthumously by Becker's loving wife, fulfilling his dying wish and the culmination of a lifelong desire.

With the passing of time, very few Holocaust survivors remain with us today. It becomes increasingly urgent that each and every one of us reads Mordechai's story.
