Synopsis

Jesero thought leaving the Valley to find a good fortress for his people was the right thing to do, until they were all captured by a cruel bunch of wild traders who use terror and lions to keep their slaves under control. Zuriel hears of their predicament and takes Delwyn and others to find a way to rescue them, hopefully without getting captured as well.

While the men are on this dangerous mission, the Valley Law continues to search for the Underground lord, Darse, who escaped an explosion with the help of his trusty servant, Remer. Darse has found a unique way of hiding that he thinks no one else in the Valley knows about yet, and he plans to use this secret ability and a new weapon to destroy his enemies. But another has also found this ability and neither knows the other has it.

Jesero and Zuriel used to be enemies, but they discover a surprising friendship at the new fortress. And when an ancient prophecy is fulfilled, they all discover that not all lions are bad and one in particular has come to astonish everyone more than they ever imagined.
