Synopsis

The Anglo-Saxon Gospels, also known as the Wessex Gospels and the West-Saxon Gospels, are the earliest full translations of the Gospels into Old English. Here, the two versions are put into a table so the verses from each are directly side-by-side. Because they are written in Old English, the correpsonding translations from the Matthews Bible of 1549 have been included in a third column for reference.

Contains a general guide to pronunciation and a do-it-yourself glossary in the back where you can note the meanings of new words you learn.
