For over 10 years the Hull Local History Group has been producing a magazine approximately twice a year filled with historical articles written by the group members. This book is a compendium of selected articles taken from that decade long history. From an analysis of the forgotten Hull hero Captain William Colbeck, on to Hull's Titanic connection; from a thorough analysis and description of the long gone passenger stations of Hull, to the history of Victoria Dock; from a brief sojourn in the strange Klondyke Cafe, to a quick look at some of the quirkiest features gracing Hull's East Park. In essence the book is a journey across Hull and the surrounding district investigating some of the fascinating aspects of the area without the reader having to get out of their chair. It is both an exploration and a celebration of some of the intriguing aspects of the history of Hull and the surrounding area.
