Synopsis

A note from the owner:

Once upon a time I was cleaning my garage when I came across an old box. Painted on the front of the box was the word Bills. My thought was that it was once used to hold bills, like water or electric bills.

It was a nice old box, so I took it inside and was about to set it down when I saw a punctuation that I must have missed. It was an apostrophe. The box now read Bill’s. This, of course, changed the meaning. The box must have belong to a Bill. But I didn’t know any Bills and there weren’t any Bills in my family, past or present.

I didn’t think much of it until the next day when the box caught my eye and I saw more words written on the box. Bill’s Magic Box was now what it read.

Ok, was I losing my mind? I was fairly certain - though my eyes are bad and I’m old - I didn’t see those words on the box before. Not only that - there was something in it! (It was empty when I found it! I’m not that old!)

Inside of the box were gold papers tied with a red silk ribbon. Written on the papers was a story. A children’s rhyming story, to be more precise.

I read the story, put it back in the box, shut the lid, rose out of my chair, and backed away slowly. What was happening was very strange.

It took me some time to muster up the courage to open the box again. When I did, there was the roll of gold papers tied with the red ribbon. I was sure that when I tossed the story back in the box I didn’t roll it up and tie it with the ribbon. But there it was, rolled up and tied.

I took a deep breath, untied the ribbon, and read. And yes! Of course! It was a different story!

So what do I do? What could I do? I feel I have no choice but to share my findings.

These are the stories I have found in Bill’s Magic Box. I hope you enjoy them.
