Synopsis
The Guardian begins at the end of the battle in Rylltòl with Termâs looking for Yvayn. He is alone and realizes that very quickly as the reality of the situation hits him. The Guardian is the story of how Termâs deals with his faults blaming himself for much of what has happened. He begins his return to Careath and meets another lost soul, Cai, of Beras. They become friends and more as they fight or escape to get back to Careath before that large unidentified army approaches. They are joined by Lyora and Erwaith before they get to Careath where Termâs is thrust into the position of interim ruler. He gathers as many leaders of the various clans as he can but he also begins to see what Myllyof dealt with as a growing faction of zealots from Careath begin to seed the people with doubts about the other clans and especially The Order. Watch as Termâs grows and learns to lead even though it is difficult as the army arrives and battles ensue. Watch how his relationship with Cai and others develops before he is finally tested by an ancient mysterious creature that his people had come to believe was faded away into mythology. How does Termâs deal with all of this while still hoping that Yvayn is alive somewhere still in Semia?
