Philosopher Alain de Botton noted, “The chief enemy of good decisions is a lack of sufficient perspectives on a problem.” Mental models provide perspective, a way of looking at the world through a specific framework that helps interpret experience, discern the dynamics at play, and guide decisions.
Using Bowen Systems Theory as a way to reframe ministry leadership the contributors challenge leaders to consider a different perspective on what it means to be a leader. This book will help leaders reframe how they think about their organizations and the role of the leader. Nothing is more important to effective leadership than understanding ourselves, our relationships, and our organization. Here the Faculty of Leadership in Ministry Workshops, a continuing education program for clergy and non-profit leaders share their wisdom on pastoral leadership informed by over thirty years of working with religious and organizational leaders.
