After the invention of the automobile In the late 1800's, this young man who was living and working in London making saddles, suddenly finds himself without a means to earn a living. He soon returns to Aldershot to live with his mother.
After praying and asking God what her son should do with his life, his mother advises him to go to America and seek work there. He follows her advice and leaves the homeland of his birth in 1903, eventually arriving in Washington D.C. in 1912.
