Synopsis

From veteran poet, Michael Tavon shares his most lyrical collection of poems and prose. Tavon opnely cites early 90's hip-hop and R&b as major influences and The Beauty Behind My Darkness puts that on full display. With honest poems like Before I Fall in Love & Like an Interview which highlights the vulnerabilty of a man who just wants to fund a 'soft love', Michael Tavon wears his heart of a sleeve shamelessly. This collection will take readers on a journey from heartbreak & loss to self-discovery, to cultivating a pure love. If you're in the more poems that vary in structure and literary devices Tavon makes sure you will never grow tired of flipping the pages.

"This poetry collection is like a mixed CD, very nostalgic and real" - Tavon.
