This book describes the murder cases of 18 victims from different areas, including Kokomo, Indiana; Denver, Colorado; Harlem, New York; Gainesville, Georgia; Toronto, Ontario; etc. Most of the cases remained unsolved for decades until recent years when advanced technologies like DNA testing allowed investigators to identify suspects and bring them to justice. The first case discussed the murder of 21-year-old Destiny Pittman in Kokomo, Indiana in 2013. Her body was found outside her apartment with a gunshot wound. The case remained unsolved for 9 years until investigators matched DNA from the crime scene to two suspects, Jesse and Joey McCartney, who were charged with her murder in 2023.The second case described the murder of 39-year-old Terry Turichak in Denver, Colorado in 1996. Her body was found strangled in her bedroom. The case went cold for over 20 years until investigators matched DNA from the crime scene to suspect Ricky Dawson, who was already serving time for another murder. He was charged with Terry's murder in 2023.The third case revolved around the double murder of Sarah Roberts, 57, and her daughter Sharon, 26, in their Harlem, New York apartment in 1994. The case remained unsolved for 29 years until a new lead and DNA evidence led to the arrest of suspect Larry Atkinson in 2023.The fourth case discussed the murder of 38-year-old Domalita Alvarez, who was found stabbed to death in her family's auto repair shop in Houston, Texas in 2009. The case went cold for over 10 years until a DNA match led to the arrest of Jorge Trevino Cardenas in 2023. The fifth case described the 1993 murder of 42-year-old Barbara Brodkin in Toronto, Ontario. Her 6-year-old son found her dead in their apartment. The case remained unsolved for 24 years until a DNA match led to the arrest of Charles Mustard, who was convicted of her murder in 2023.Several other murder cases were also discussed, following a similar pattern of remaining unsolved for many years until breakthroughs in DNA technology allowed investigators to identify and charge suspects, bringing long-awaited justice and closure.
