Synopsis
Having unexpectedly been handed the ownership of the mercenary troop the Black Dryarns, Kyron learns to handle the pressure of having all the troopers and their families relying on him to keep them alive. In another twist, he adds a young magician to strengthen the Dryarn's capabilities. This decision produces an interesting side benefit when he finally starts to learn and use the magical abilities several magicians had told him he possesses. An added bonus was his female magician wasn't bad looking either! Of course, unstable Kings, arrogant nobles, and confused battles mean that following the mercenary trade is not necessarily a safe occupation!
