The brutality of life in 1930s Alabama for young black guitarist, Huey Tate, makes the prospect of war-torn Europe seem less daunting. After encountering one another in the battle to free Paris from the occupying Germans, romance flourishes between Huey and Clara Bisset, a hero of the French Resistance. Clara had been a French teenager about to start university when war broke out. Alongside her mentor and lover, Marc Durand, she enters frontline combat for the Resistance against the Germans and becomes a feared assassin. With his guitar on his back, Huey is fighting his way to Paris where destiny will link him together with Marc and Clara.
Music, love and war make for a heady cocktail; an eternal triangle of jealousy, deceit and murder.
