Synopsis

Calvera 36, is set in an alternate universe during the Earth’s 1920/30’s timeline. Our story begins in 1936, with NYPD Detective Cal Brady, a war hero who fought on Calvera, during the war against the Kraq is informed that he is to return there to investigate a murder.
But first let’s tell of what has gone before.
September 28 1926.
It all began with far more stars in the night sky than normal, but come the following morning these same new stars remained in clear view. This was the beginning of the invasion. Military forces were placed on the highest alert. Whatever filled our skies had united a planet recently torn apart by the Great War. The same scenario occurred on Earth’s sister planet Calvera. There was simply so many of them it proved impossible to count. The major cities on both planets were targeted first as thousands of Kraq warships burnt them to the ground. Countless millions died but finally after four years of war with no prisoners taken by either side, the Kraq retreated and returned to wherever they came from.
Cal Brady’s journey back to Calvera sees him become exposed to some astonishing scenarios. The People he meets, the places he is taken to. You wonder sometimes if Brady is dreaming? Familiar names pop up throughout. Al Capone, Robert Oppenheimer, Henry Ford, J Edgar Hoover, Elliot Ness, Nikola Tesla and a young boy called John F Kennedy. A different world and universe, and for me a different way of telling a story like no other. Calvera 36 is a hell of a journey both for Cal Brady, and I hope the reader. This is part one of a three book series. So much more to follow!
