Despite its debilitation after the fall of the Soviet Union and the economic liberalization of China, its impact and influence is far from over. Individually, so that one might be wary of one own's biases and tendencies towards the movement, and collectively, so that we might discern the spirit of the times with some amount of wisdom.

Thus this short book is presented firstly as an introductory essay into the history of Marxism, with specific interest in its Russian manifestation, and secondly, as formal academic study into the philosophical, psychological and social, forces that influenced the many peoples of the Russian Empire into embracing the ideology, which in term might influence us now into following in their footsteps.
