Synopsis

‘Yes, there is a cancerous tumour, and, by the way, you’ll be having surgery two weeks today.’

This is the story of one person’s battle to survive trauma, and create, amid the chaos, a new totally different, normality after being diagnosed with cancer. It is a very personal story of a wife and mother’s fight with cancer.

It is also a story of incredible kindness, outstanding patience, and amazing support – both practical and psychological. Through shock, intense fear, and pain, Carolyn discovered incredible kindness, outstanding patience, and amazing support – both practical and psychological. It tells of exceptional medical expertise and the dedication of a variety of National Health Service professionals.

Drawn from Carolyn’s journal – part memoir, part guide – this is her candid narrative about a path not chosen. She shares the knowledge and experience she gained, and also the tips she wished someone had shared with her as she was walking through a cancer world. It is a practical handbook for both living with cancer and also for becoming stronger than before.

If you are reeling from a cancer diagnosis, or want to support someone who is, then this is the book for you.

Accept what is, let go of what was, and have faith in what will be.
