Synopsis

Did you know that "historic" is synonymous with "haunted"?

And that cornfields don't make great places for dating?

These are some of the questions to ask yourself before diving into this book which takes you through ideas from the familiar to the new. Like the witch in the woods who is capable of no harm until she is crossed one time too many. Or the rite of passage at a funeral. How many times have you wondered about the last time it will snow on Earth?

Harper weaves webs of enchanting terror and triumph as the voiceless work their will upon others. Some stories read like true yarns of an unfortunate evening ("Historic Honeymoon") or a deadly evening ("Hallowed"), while others recreate classic tales ("Witch in the Woods"). How the simplest idea ("1 Yellow Wall") can grow until there is nothing else ("Vicarious") and that may not always be the best plan ("The Paperweight").

A collection of stories ranging from flash fiction to novella, Snapshots: Stories for the Nearsighted is a triumph for those seeking to be heard within their own lives.
