Synopsis
Sometimes, even the most ardent novel reader takes a break and searches for something to read, something that is different, interesting, short, and suits the mood. Something that can be enjoyed almost anywhere—while riding on the bus or train, waiting for a doctor’s appointment, or just lying in bed at the at the end of a busy day while waiting for the sandman. My stories come in all shapes and sizes, and you can read some of them in just a few minutes, others are slightly longer. However, you can enjoy all of them in the time it takes to enjoy a cup of coffee or a late afternoon cocktail.
I gathered this collection of short stories from my feature articles in the Diablo Gazette, Alive Magazine East Bay, The Big Issue UK, and some are adapted pieces from my novels. It is a smorgasbord of treats. I have published many in US and UK journals. The topics cover musings from my home country, England, the ten years I lived in Africa, my world travels, and life and work here in California.
Written words allow for the sharing of ideas, philosophies, memories, events, and stories. They will make you happy, they will make you sad. They will inform you and surprise you. They will take you to exotic places and reveal amazing things in your own neighborhoods. But above all, they will make you believe in the power of written words to connect humans to one another, navigating across time and space in a profound and impactful way that nothing else can achieve.
