“ . . . it seems preposterous that I will someday die.
That my body and soul will no longer exist.
But die, I presumably must,
. . . to become dead like others before me . . . . “
I share with you, dear Reader, my simple perspectives on dying and death. My message is intended for all, for the secular and the religious — non-believers and believers alike
For a person to think about and anticipatorily explore one’s own dying, I believe, is emotionally and spiritually healthy. The person who is dying should be able to verbalize in their own words, to themselves and to others, what they are feeling and thinking in those waning days, hours and minutes.
In this book, I encourage and guide you to think about your death, and to emotionally prepare for your dying in simple, unsophisticated terms. Your terms!
This book is also a bold, very public, affirmation for individuals who choose to believe differently, who do not believe in a heaven or an afterlife, or in an apocalyptic or rapturous future for humankind, and who are not followers of any of the dominant or dominating world religions.
