Synopsis
It is a chilly December afternoon in the Texas Hill Country. There is a soft and persistent rain falling. Your chair is close to the fireplace where burning logs are producing a warm glow. There is hot coffee in a thick cup on the table beside the chair. A book of detective stories is in your lap. The stories span the years 1935 to 1946 and tell of mystery and adventure. In the stories, you meet interesting people with problems. There is an artist whose giant mural is threatened by vandals, a film director escaping from assassins, an occurrence of theft on a train, a search for an elusive German soldier, and an art collector hoarding stolen paintings. Each of these stories involve people who either seek out or are found by Ellie Adder. She is a legendary private detective who lives on a Texas ranch and is creative enough to bring each case to a successful conclusion.
