He founded the Art of Living Foundation in 1981, and since then, has been teaching powerful and effective breath-based meditation techniques. Gurudev has brought leaders and communities together to promote peace in conflict-stricken areas, has spoken around the world, and has been an invited presenter at the United Nations, the European Parliament, the World Economic Forum, as well as universities such as Stanford, Yale, Georgetown, and the University of Southern California. Twenty-one universities have awarded him honorary doctorates for his humanitarian and conflict resolution initiatives.
