Instead of boarding a ship to see the many wonders of the world, Dufresne and his wife traveled to Boston to visit the renowned Dana Farber Cancer Institute in search of new and innovative treatments. He writes with remarkable candor and humor about the ups and downs of this journey. He also delves into the ways his faith sustained him, despite many setbacks.

Dufresne’s hope was always to help others navigate their way through the layers and complications of cancer to live their best life.

À propos de l'auteur

Edward Dufresne grew up in an Irish-Catholic family of six children. He was educated in Roman Catholic grade and high schools in Springfield, Massachusetts. He graduated from Holy Cross College after spending his junior year abroad in Paris, France. He received MDiv and STM degrees from Yale Divinity School, where he studied with Henri Nouwen and wrote Partnership: Marriage and the Committed Life (Paulist Press, 1975), which received a National Religious Book Award.He was ordained in the Lutheran Church in America in 1975. He taught at the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia and has served many parishes both as a Lutheran pastor and as a licensed Episcopal priest. He specialized in consulting with congregations in crisis and conflict. Pastor Dufresne was married to The Hon. Elizabeth LaStaiti, a retired judge of the Massachusetts Trial Court. Together they enjoyed traveling the world through judicial exchange programs and chaplaincy assignments on international cruise ships.
