Synopsis
This is a delightfully illustrated picture book that presents the alphabet to young readers using a lovely literation of colorful fruits and vegetables having a good time. Inspired by a TED TALK episode, Jamie Oliver, the Naked Chef, was showing a potato and a tomato to middle school students. The children were unable to recognize them. Sadness. How are they going to make healthier choices if they cannot even recognize fresh food?
Yummy ABC is an entertaining exploration of vegetables, fruits and herbs. I love exploring the groceries store with my children where we are surrounded by an abundance of textures, colors, smells. We need experiences that enrich our lives and generate conversation.
