In 1921, air mail was in trouble! A relay flight across America could save it, but the pilots faced many dangers.
When Jack Knight landed his plane in snowy Omaha, the next pilot in the relay was missing. Their mission was about to fail, but Jack refused to quit. Even though he was tired, he took off into the freezing night sky. Using a simple paper map, the glow of bonfires, and city lights to guide him, Jack flew 424 dangerous miles in the dark to deliver the mail to Chicago.
