Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt is one of Europe's most popular and acclaimed authors and playwrights. His many novels and story collections include Oscar and the Lady in Pink (2002) and Paradises Lost (Europa, 2024). In 2001, he was awarded the French Academy's Grand Prix du Théâtre. Schmitt divides his time between Paris, France, and Belgium.




Alison Anderson is an author and the translator of around 100 books from French. Her translations for Europa Editions include Muriel Barbary's bestselling The Elegance of the Hedgehog and novels by Amélie Nothomb, Sélim Nassib, and Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt.
