The foundation of this history lies in the story of a people searching for peace and freedom aligned with their faith in the One True God. They were guided by a spirit that brought them through difficult times and circumstances beyond their control. Their experiences were compelling, and their source of wisdom, faith, and comfort was the Holy Bible. The Pilgrims created the first contract on these shores for the glory of God, having left Great Britain to escape the oppressive state church.
In this new land, they envisioned a government of the people, by the people, and for the people-a democracy where the majority would rule, rather than a monarchy. However, there is always the risk of a government becoming overbearing and circumventing the will of the people. Issues like same-sex marriage, unlikely to be approved by the majority, are often decided by the Supreme Court, which can interpret the constitution in a way that aligns with current trends, disregarding the original intent.
The true source of guidance, wisdom, creativity, and the power to organize positively and unify people was the Word of God. The constitution did not create wise men, but wise men, guided by God's wisdom, wrote the constitution. Without God's wisdom, we will perish. It is ironic that Madelyn O'Hara's son became a minister of the gospel, showing that God always prevails. The relationship between church and state highlights the foundation that supports our freedom and prosperity. If we rely on this foundation, we will thrive; if we ignore it, we will be crushed.
