Synopsis

Lazarus at his Desk: Vertigo-Talk delves into the supernatural, drawing parallels between African religion's Legba and Christianity's Lazarus. In this mythos, the enigmatic figure of Lazarus, often accompanied by two black dogs, symbolizes the crossroads of fate. The book explores the fear of selling one's soul for a daunting yet rewarding path, a theme echoed across cultures.

Through a series of obituary prose-poems, Harry Edgar Palacio reflects on prophecy and the small and monumental deaths that shape our lives. These verses serve as a perpetual quest for the ineffable in the Elysian Fields, urging readers to navigate infernos and purgatories without guidance.

Lazarus at his Desk: Vertigo-Talk spans millennia, mirroring the ascent of Jacob's ladder over five thousand years. While angels traverse it effortlessly, humans laboriously ascend. Whether encountering the old Lazarus or the spectral Legba in daily trials, the chosen path defines our destiny.
