Synopsis
Steve Dixon has waited years for his Major League debut. He's bounced around the minors and recovered from shoulder surgery, and now he's making his pitching debut for the Nashville Notes. Before that, all he wants is a quiet drink - instead he meets Mason, a bartender with a lopsided smile.
Mason is actually Mason Rollans, Nashville's veteran catcher: fifteen seasons, plenty of awards, but one's missing: a World Series ring. He's running out of time because all the love of the game in his heart can't help his aching knees. But when a rookie with warm brown eyes walks into his bar, Mason thinks his World Series dreams might come true.
The second half of the season tests the relationship between a pitcher and catcher, and with the World Series looming, Steve and Mason might stumble onto something even greater than the trophy.
