Since the marriage of technology and law, laws for ICT have been continuously developing across the globe. India joined the journey to regulate the cyber-space in 2000. The development of Indian laws for the cyber world and cyberspace has been slow. The past decade can be considered significant from the point of view of robust regulation of cybercrimes and ensuring a guarantee of rights in cyberspace. Many countries are engaged in enacting Data Protection Laws. The Indian government also started engaging in discussions and deliberations to ensure the protection of personal digital continuous reports and recommendations of Committees culminated in the form of Draft Bills to protect Personal Data in India. The Book is a sincere attempt to present an overview of constitutional, judicial and legal aspects of data protection with a special focus on India. Specific areas such as data protection of financial data, data privacy in matrimony, international perspective on data protection and so on have been minutely touched upon in the present book. Data Protection Laws of jurisdictions outside India have also been covered. The authors of the Chapters are from diverse backgrounds such as Industry Professionals, Law Academicians and last but not least young law students.
