His interest in the well-being of individuals stemed from his desire to favour a well-balanced physical condition where yin and yang are harmonized. In the traditional Japanese ju-jitsu school he founded, this condition takes shape as each adult student developes techniques to defend himself/herself with kime, regardless of sex, size or age.
