Synopsis: The Dog That Didn't Bark at First is a children's easy reader book about a beagle named Buttons that was "cute as a button," but was different from other beagles because he didn't use his energy barking, chasing, wagging, fidgeting, or perking his ears until his owner brought home a beagle named Clover that got Buttons' "tail wagging." Buttons needed someone to push the right button to get him moving. He was lucky to have Clover. Autobiography: Florence M. Coleman, M.Ed., M.Div., is a dedicated educator, author and lifelong learner whose life's work is rooted in the soil of Alton, VA. While growing up as one of thirteen siblings, Florence learned early about the values of community and resilience. Her career in education was a profession and a calling to foster mindfulness and curiosity in every student. Her work is known for its heart-literally-as she includes a small red heart on the pages of her books to encourage readers to find love and mindfulness in their daily lives.
