This is the same John Gentry who, most of his life, never knew the difference between a poetic dactyl and a cocktail daiquiri with a teeny tiny umbrella sticking out of it. Now he thinks he does and wages rhyme & meter war on the present generation of poets who believe the R & M of their betters is out of date.


 By “better,” he means their works, not they themselves. He barricades himself behind the barbed wire and mine fields of traditional verse and wages his literary war from Ojai, California. At the age of 90, his battle scars are none too few.


 Here in, verse by verse, his cache of weaponry. Like any other type of weapon, never consider them completely empty.
