Synopsis

This essay was not written as an anti-black pamphlet. One was rather motivated by the desire of replacing the African descended individual within his authentic identity.

If all Europeans were given the right to identify themselves according to their lineage, whether they are from Spain, Denmark, France or Portugal, the Afro descendants, since the slave trade, have been blocked in a « black » sphere.

If « blackness » has become a source of pride, it was originally crafted as an insult which contributed to the erasure, diversity, and plurality of Africans who once had been deported.

From the European side, the disdain for the Afro descendants encouraged them to isolate them and to ignore their diversity.

From the « Black » side, the erasure has been accepted, tolerated, and promoted as being positive.

This book explores the improbability of the concept of blackness which has nurtured racism, and confusion for many centuries.
